ACTIVELY PURCHASING THE ORIGINAL PAINTINGS OF ALASKAN ARTIST JULES DAHLAGER

The atmospheric paintings of the Alaskan landscape created by JULES BERNARD DAHLAGER (1884 - 1952) in the areas surrounding Cordova and Ketchikan, Alaska from ca. 1921 until the time of his death are personalized responses to his subjects. Alongside fellow painters in search of the pristine, "untouched" far Northern American landscape - namely Sydney Laurence, Eustace Ziegler and Ted Lambert, Dahlager set himself apart with his fusion of carefully-executed detail and painterly swashes of harmonious color, all executed in a wide array of palette knife strokes.

In addition to his vivid portrayals of the rugged Southeastern Alaska landscape, Dahlager devoted a body of his work to capturing members of the local Athabaskan, Tlingit and Eskimo cultures.
